Meet Marielys Camacho-Reyes
Founder / President
Marielys Camacho-Reyes, MS, CAMHFA, CYMHFA, CTT is an Army Veteran, a retired Army Wife, and the Founder and President of the Compassionate Hearts UNITED Foundation, Inc.
Marielys holds a Master of Science in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Psychology with a specialization in Social Psychology, focusing on Prosocial and Antisocial Behavior. Marielys' recent book Cleaning Out My Closet: My Road from Self-Discovery to Emotional Healing is currently available in Amazon and in Walmart.
Marielys was selected as the "2019 Veteran of the Year" for the City of Haines City for her support and dedication to her community. She is also the 2020 Winner of The Spirit of Philanthropy Award presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Polk County Chapter and the GiveWell Foundation.
Marielys is a Certified Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aider with the National Council of Behavioral Health and a Crisis Counselor with the Crisis Text Line.
She currently lives in Haines City, FL with her family.
Meet John A. Morales-Camacho
Board Director / VP
John has over 3 years of experience in customer service and international studies. He has traveled the world alongside his military family, and lived in many countries, including Panama, El Salvador, Colombia, and Zimbabwe.
John recently graduated from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Law, Justice, and Advocacy.
John is currently the Assistant Security Manager at EEC Solutions.
He joins us in hopes of furthering the development of the organization, specifically its charity programs, by strengthening the relationship with our community to be able to further our fundraising opportunities.
Meet Alex Morales-Hernandez
Board Director / Treasurer
Alex Morales-Hernandez, the CEO and President of CW3RET Enterprise, LLC (DBA: EEC Solutions) was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he lived until he enlisted in the United States Army.
He is a 2013 graduate of Central Michigan University with a Master of Science in Administration.
Alex enlisted in the United States Army on 18 April 1995 and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Three after 21 years of military service. He served in the Special Operations Enterprise and lastly in the Defense Attaché System as the Operations Coordinator, Assistant Army Attaché, and Acting Defense Attaché in countries such as Bolivia, Chad, El Salvador, Colombia, Malawi, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.
Alex is a recipient of numerous military awards including the 3rd highest award in the Department of State “Award for Heroism.”
He speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
Meet Melody K. Morales-Camacho
Board Director / Secretary
Melody, born in Manati, Puerto Rico, traveled the world for almost 18 years alongside her two military parents and siblings.
Throughout this time, she was able to see and experience many different parts of the world, some of these being Zimbabwe, Colombia, El Salvador, Bolivia, and Panama. Understanding the diverse cultures, as well as, becoming a part of them was a factor that really impacted her upbringing and shaped her into the person she is today.
Upon returning to the United States, and in only 3 years, Melody obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Management from The University of Tampa. Shortly after graduating, she obtained a full-time job with a software development firm in St. Petersburg, FL, and became the company's youngest director as the Human Resources Director.
Melody is currently the Operations Manager at EEC Solutions.
Meet Nikki King
Board Member (Volunteer Coordinator)
Named Head coach of the RCHS girls’ basketball program in 2015, Coach King has worked extremely hard to build the program. King has helped the program record its first winning season and currently has a 100% graduation rate. Additionally, King coached the first and second player in program history to sign a letter of intent to play college basketball during the 2017-2018 & 2018-2019 season. King also registered the first win in program history against cross-town rivals, Haines City. Prior to Ridge Community High School, Coach King received her first assistant coach position at Tenoroc High School in 2014.
Coach King got her start in coaching as an intern for the Men’s Basketball Program at Webber International University while finishing up her bachelor’s degree in 2011. King also served as a graduate assistant for the Women’s basketball program at the university in 2012-2013 while completing her MBA.
Coach King is a 2006 graduate of Haines City High School where she is played volleyball and basketball. In her spare time, Coach King enjoys spending time with her family and traveling the world. Coach King is a proud member of the Church of Christ and loves studying the bible.
Meet Angelica Pennington
Board Member (Volunteer Coordinator)
Coach Pennington has been a part of the Lady Bolts Basketball program since the 2017-2018 season. Coach Pennington is the JV head coach and varsity assistant as well as over basketball operations. Coach Pennington was born in the Philippines and is a proud military kid; however, she considers her hometown to be Orange Park, Florida.
Coach Pennington received a Master of Business Administration degree from Warner University in 2014. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Pre-Law concentration from Webber International University.
While at WIU, Pennington was the Editor-in-Chief of “The Warrior” campus newspaper as well as active with the career services department.
Coach Pennington enjoys reading, writing poetry, and traveling. Coach Pennington is also a Senior Felony Probation Officer for the State of Florida as well as the owner of Embrace the Pace Designs, LLC, a graphic and visual design company. She is a proud member of the Church of Christ and enjoys interacting with the community. She takes pride in player development both on and off the court and building a culture of success and productive young adults.
